TIG Welding Torch

There are many types of welding jobs, and one must remember to make sure the appropriate welding machine is used. Light home welding projects different from industry-heavy welding works. For complicated and meticulous commercial welding projects, the TIG welding torch is the best machine to use.

TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding is reserved for professional welders, who work on striking an arc between a tungsten electrode and the metal. A TIG welding filler is use to create the weld pool. To prevent fast oxidation of the project, an inert welding gas like Argon is poured over the weld pool.

Despite of its technical requirements and relatively high price, there are alpha male British guys who prefer no other than the proficiency and polished quality of TIG-welded projects. Hence, there are TIG welding torches available today for personal projects.

A TIG welding torch comes in two types depending on the type of electrical output: the DC only output which can weld any metal except aluminum; and the AC/DC output which can handle aluminum welding jobs.

A TIG torch can fetch you somewhere along the £500 price range. Regardless of the price, TIG welding torch is the premium choice when it comes to welding efficiency. Its advantages include a higher user control of the welding machine, hence a high-quality output; and its capacity to weld any kind of metal and any size requirements - from the thinnest sheet to the bulkiest bar.

The obvious disadvantages include the high cost and the higher degree of skills and welding experience necessary if one is to operate a pro welding torch like the TIG welding torch. However, professional welders agree that those with adequate knowledge and experience in lower-end gas-powered welding torches, coupled with a good eye-hand coordination can confidently operate this higher-end welding tool.
